You're doing the right thing Shannan. I was not allowed a smartphone or unsupervised access to the internet until I had graduated High School. I had a "dumb phone" that allowed me to make calls, text, and listen to music. That was plenty. As a result, I read a lot, I did a lot of art, and I still had great connections to my friends.
Now that I have a smartphone my book reading has dropped precipitously. I'm glad I only started using social media once I was 18, it made me addicted anyway but at least I had a normal childhood.
