You definitely didn’t deserve the personal hate targeted at you.

I don’t think Jimmy Kimmel’s show was unfair in its questions and criticisms of Gawker, but you shouldn’t have been the fall girl for it.

The Gawker Stalker was a horrible thing, and I’m disappointed you didn’t see that, and you didn’t see how paparazzis ruin people’s lives. I do think you have some responsibility for having that job, and for posting untrue, nasty, intrusive things about people. I can see why people might find it “poetic justice” that the same thing was done to you, though in my opinion two wrongs don’t make a right.

It seems like the entirety of Gawker, including Nick, was full of nasty, petty people.

I hope you now understand why public mockery, shaming etc — the very things Gawker made its money from, and which you profited from — is so bad.

Makes me think of the scene from Joker where Arthur turns to Murray and says “You’re awful. Playing that video, inviting me on the show — you just wanted to make fun of me.”

It’s a whole industry designed to do nothing but mock and belittle people, and it’s nasty and cruel and you chose to be a part of it and contribute to it.

People should be able to be criticised, absolutely. But no one deserves death threats, being called a “disgusting c — -” and not being allowed to move on and grow from their mistakes.

I hope people stop treating you badly for something that happened over a decade ago, and let you grow and move on.
