Wow, thanks for sharing. Yeah I wouldn't take opioids recreationally, nor would I take cocaine (based on how David Bowie nearly died from it) or meth.

The only time I would consider taking meth or heroin would be if I was terminally ill and knew I was going to die within a few days/weeks. Then I would try it. Why not at that point lol.

The main reason I wouldn't do it until then (aside from the health risks and addiction risk) is that I've heard that meth feels better than any joy you can feel normally. And thus any joy I would feel in life would be ruined in comparison to meth.

I'd rather be able to enjoy my normal life the way it is, and then if I'm about to die, if I happen to be in a position to be able to try meth then I'd be curious to see if it actually is Peak Joy, because at that point there will be nothing left of my life to ruin and I will have squeezed every drop of "normal" happiness out of my life.
