What? Did you check out during this part of the movie? It was insanely tense, because the characters were afraid they’d be blown up every second! Also, it had one of the most viscerally disgusting moments, where the barbed wire injures the main guy’s hand, and then moments later he trips and the cut hand plunges into the festering ribcage of a rotten corpse! Instant sepsis! I watched the rest of the movie knowing that if our hero survived to reach his mission, he would likely die of blood poisoning after the movie ends because of the infection he 100% would get! That realisation coloured my entire movie experience after that.

Ironically the infection was probably the most deadly thing that happened to the main character in the movie.

Unthreatening? Hardly.

And sterile? Germs, rotten flesh, flies and decay are everywhere in No Man’s Land, and I’m astonished you didn’t realise that.
