Well said.

Honestly the discourse went so extreme that things that scientifically did NOT spread COVID and were not high risk were condemned.

Walking outside by yourself with nobody nearby, without a mask, is not "killing people". Yet when my friend walked home from work in an empty street during the Delta wave, and took his mask off for a few minutes after 12 hours of having to wear it non stop, a cop car pulled up to him and screamed at him to "PUT YOUR MASK BACK ON". Who was that protecting? Nobody.

Meeting up with your young friends and creating a "bubble" where you can have human contact and socialise but stay away from the at-risk? Not harming anyone. Young people had almost no risk of dying from COVID, the reason we socially distanced was to protect the elderly and disabled, not ourselves. I was NEVER worried about my own safety re COVID, everything I did was for others.

Letting your CHILDREN bounce on a trampoline outside in your back yard is not harming anyone, and yet nosy neighbours called the cops on families who had the audacity to go into their backyard without a mask.

Honestly, after over 2 years... after having gone through all the lockdowns and wore masks for 2 years, and been vaxxed...

I don't care anymore. I am not going to do any more. I am not going to wear a mask, if I'm not sick, and I'm not required to (ie in a medical situation or a really crowded place). I'm not going to get a booster shot unless I feel I need one. And right now I don't.

This whole time I never caught COVID. Or if I did I was completely asymptomatic.

I am over it. I don't care. I'm not going to give up any more of my life for this fucking virus. And if I get sick, I will stay home, and I will mask, and distance, but until I do, I will not unless I am literally forced.

And I won't feel any shame about it.
