Very well said! People said it isn’t possible to fully recover from an eating disorder and I DID. It took a combination of factors and habit changes including therapy and nondual spirituality, mindfulness and intuitive eating training, and even some MDMA to make my brain more sensitive to new information. But it worked. Never feel that you’re destined to always be ill. It’s not your fault you’re ill, and it’s not as easy as “just choosing to get better" as if it’s a quick fix but so many people with mental illness (myself included at one time) believe that it’s never going to get better and refuse to engage in behaviours that could help them because they “already know it won’t work". When actually even people with delusions can become better, my partner has psychosis and his work with Internal Family Systems therapy helped him IMMENSELY to the point it doesn’t negatively impact his day to day life anymore.
