This isn’t a myth. I routinely can read 300 page novels in about an hour. Depends on the complexity of the story. But otherwise I see it play out like a movie in my head. And I can give you a detailed plot summary at the end.

I can speed read because for 20 years, reading has been one of my all time favourite activities and I was addicted to reading as a child.
