There's a very interesting video I watched on Youtube by a man called Jake Tran, who explains who is profiting off the war in Ukraine.
It explains how the West by giving "financial aid" in the form of debt, is actually enslaving Ukraine and ensuring that they become even more of its puppet.
Apparently a HUGE proportion of GDP in Ukraine was already going to interest payments to the US, before the invasion. But now with a crippled economy and millions leaving the country, plus billions MORE in debt, it will be impossible for them to ever pay off the US, meaning that to avoid complete financial ruin they have to bow to further geopolitical demands from the West.
If the West REALLY cared about "aid" to Ukraine they would have forgiven their existing debt to them. But that's not what they did. They added more debt.
Basically I think the US is setting themselves up for even more of a win win situation. If Ukraine loses, it will come at the price of Russia's economic crippling and pariah status in the eyes of much of the world.
If Ukraine survives somehow, and Russia withdraws from it, Russia is still financially crippled and Ukraine's status as a puppet for the US is even more firmly established. Because once the dust settles the US will come in to "rebuild" at the cost of even more debt.
I'm sure Putin knows this, which is why it makes it even more unlikely that he will stop the war.
