This article makes some assumptions about evil that seem very simplistic.

Especially in regards to Satan. The implication being that Satan is real first of all, and that the true nature of Satan IS evil. And so any depiction of Lucifer as a fictional character who isn't fully evil (or in the show Lucifer, evil at all) is making us sympathetic to evil because... Satan is inherently evil?

But if someone doesn't do evil deeds, they're not evil. So sympathising with someone who doesn't do something wrong, isn't sympathising with evil. It's sympathising with good.

Something that's actually more "sympathetic to evil" are shows that glorify serial killers. Or paintings that depict dictators in a heroic light. People who actually did evil deeds.
