This argument has somewhat less weight given that apparently Biden won 86% of the “Black vote” in Missouri and Michigan. That isn’t so easily boiled down to a generational gap. It’s also not clearly “just a Southern thing”.
Whether or not you prefer Sanders to Biden, I think these results show that Biden is going to be able to swing conservative or undecided voters from Trump to the Democrats, even if he doesn’t appeal to the progressive wing within his own party. I think he should appoint a progressive VP.
