There definitely are men who do this. I have several such men in my life. In fact I've rarely come across the other kind of man that you describe, in my personal life. That's a privilege of mine, but I wonder why my experiences with men have been so different from many other women's experiences?

I wonder if it's an access problem? How do you identify and access the good men, the ones who do try to help women? Is it luck? Is it the fact I'm in Australia? Is it age (younger men on average tend to be more feminist than previous generations)? Is it something else?

When I was the admin of a large feminist group, I guess I saw more of these kind of men than one comes across in the "wild" as it were. Because they were the kind of men who would seek to join a feminist group because they care about the issues, so it sort of self-selected for those kind of men.

I think there are quite a few such men on Medium. I've seen a lot of great articles by men, about how to build a more gender equal society. The Good Men Project is one of the most popular publications on the whole site. While some of its articles are flawed, many of them are great.

TLDR while absolutely too many men are part of the problem, there ARE a lot of good men out there, the question is how to surround oneself with them? I seem to have but I don't know exactly how... :/
