The way I understand Christ Consciousness, is the same as Atman (Brahma consciousness) - essentially it's realising that God is "I Am" and that's you. You are "I Am". Therefore you are one with the absolute, you and God are not separate. That's why Jesus said "the kingdom of God is within you". Alan Watts suggested that the reason Jesus called himself "The Son of God" rather than claiming to just BE God, was because of the taboo against claiming to be Yaweh in Judaism, so he knew he would be more successful if he claimed to be the Son rather than God. But it caused this weird split in the idea of God for Christians, I think. Mystics have the right idea.
