The thing is Joe, a lot of what people fantasise about they do NOT want in real life. A huge proportion of women fantasise about being raped. That doesn’t mean they want it to happen in real life. Likewise the idea of having sex with a lot of people is titillating as a fantasy, but many women would likely not want to act on it in real life, not because of judgement but because of concerns about safety (physical and emotional).
Part of what makes a sexual fantasy titillating is the taboo factor as well, if having orgies was completely normalised, it would likely become less of a titillating fantasy because there would be nothing taboo about it anymore.
Just something to consider.
I have had fantasies of orgies too, but it doesn’t mean I want one in real life. I have had fantasies of being raped, and I definitely do NOT want that in real life. Most of my masturbation fantasies are things I would not want in real life.
In fact I find my arousal for masturbation and my arousal for partnered sex actually feel different and the pleasure happens in different parts of the body as well.
I’m sure there are plenty of people who want to have orgies in real life, but it’s a stretch to go from “50% of women fantasise about having sex with 3 or more people at once" to “50% of women want to have group sex in real life".
