The reason I’ve never gone with an IUD personally (and props to everyone for whom it’s awesome), is that 1. I’ve heard how excruciating it is to insert and 2. I’ve heard it can become dislodged in the uterus and pierce the wall. I know the latter is rare but it’s scary. Hearing it can cause cystic acne is another reason I wouldn’t want to take it.

For me, the best form of birth control is implanon. I know as with all birth control it has different side effects for different people. But for me it’s been awesome. Minimal pain at insertion, leave it and forget it for 3 years, and it almost eradicates my period. When I do bleed, it’s far less than I would in the past. And it doesn’t have the reduced libido effects of the pill.
