That's very true, it threw me off a bit in the finale. I gave it the benefit of the doubt by thinking that Whispers was using the people killed as puppets so their minds were already gone. But the sensates didn't really stop to check did they?

I understand Wolfgang doing that, because his character is established as being damaged emotionally so that he is able to kill (where he tells his uncle "my father was a monster, and so are you, and so am I" before shooting him) but it was a bit out of character for the other sensates, especially Sun who in a previous episode refused to be a murderer even when her brother is probably one of the most deserving of death characters in the show.

My theory is that Lana Wachowski ran out of time to deal with this more sensitively, or perhaps she was trying to appeal to fans of the Matrix.
