Sometimes, making your child “your life” is what leads to bad parenting though. Codependency, emotional incest, being unable to let the child grow and be independent because you “love them SO MUCH” and they are your “WORLD” and thus they should become who you want them to be because damn it, I gave up everything for you!

This is exactly what happened to me with my mother. :(
