Something that my therapist shared with me when I told her that I felt "that I must be too much for my friends, because several of them ghosted me".

And she said:

"What if you are too much for them? That doesn't mean something is wrong with you."

And my mind was blown. Because I was hoping she would say "you're not too much" except she instead asked me to sit with the possibility that I WAS TOO MUCH for these people AND that this was not necessarily a bad thing, just a misalignment in the people I was spending time with.

That was about 4 years ago, now I have met a lot of different people since then, and many of them are the perfect kind of weird for me. Most of them are neurodivergent spiritual ravers/ecstatic dancers. I love it! In this context, none of us are "too much" we are instead the perfect amount of effusive.
