So true. A lot of conspiracy theories are false. But a significant percentage are true. The Sacklers knew opioids were addictive and told their salespeople to lie to doctors for years. The tobacco industry knew that cigarettes caused cancer for decades and they paid for scientists to create biased studies showing the opposite. The oil industry knew about climate change since the 70s. PFAs now contaminate every human being on earth and there's nothing we can do about it.

It is eminently reasonable to look at this and go "what else is being currently hidden from the public by bullshit statistics and fake science"?

While COVID was not a fake disease, Bill Gates is not the Antichrist, and vaccines are not designed to wipe out the human population - and some measures to prevent the spread were reasonable, some studies used to claim that mask mandates for outdoors were "scientific" relied on terrible experimental design (one that informed the Australian government policy on mask mandates relied on counting people wearing masks in newpaper photos from different months and correlating that to the spread of COVID during those months). It was very fair to be concerned that the governments were using COVID as a way to push through authoritarian measures with public support when many of the laws didn't make sense scientifically (in Australia where I'm from they had curfews which had no scientific backing) and they also pushed through anti-protest measures that still affect people today. But any and all criticism of the government, no matter how valid, was shouted down as "conspiracy theories" and "antivax", with the most vehement claiming that anyone who wasn't 100% on board with every single thing the government were on par with murderers.

While Lady Gaga is not a vampire who feeds on the blood of children, there IS rampant child abuse in the entertainment industry, as the recent documentary "Quiet on Set" has exposed, and rampant sexual abuse of adults by powerful producers like Harvey Weinstein. Qanon may be false but Epstein's clients were real, and some of the most powerful people in the world.

While Paris Hilton is not a reptilian and Paul McCartney is not dead and replaced by a clone, Britney Spears WAS held captive by her family for 13 years, and the fans who campaigned for her release for years while being mocked as "conspiracy theorists" have been validated by her testimony now she's been released, and without the assistance of these "conspiracy theorists" she would still be suffering under that conservatorship today.

While Bush likely didn't cause 9/11, he did use that tragedy as an excuse to pass the Patriot Act which enabled mass surveillance on citizens, and he also used it as justification to invade Iraq when it was actually Saudi Arabia that was behind the attack.

Essentially while some conspiracy theories are crazy, some are true.
