Oh I don’t disagree with that at all. I just have seen a bunch of discourse around gun violence that tries to imply it’s insulting to even suggest mental illness as a factor in any of the situations, when actually it’s quite often a factor.

Of course, mental illness itself is quite often CAUSED by social factors like isolation and exclusion.

So it’s a multifaceted issue.

I’m reminded of what I experienced leaving the Joker movie when all the movie goers were murmuring about how it made them realise how they need to be kinder to everybody.

Of course the Joker in that version of the canon was extremely mentally ill, but exacerbated a huge amount by society.
