Normal just means "average". Statistically average. It comes from statistics, "normal distribution". Those who fall in the middle of whatever distribution you're doing are statistically "normal".

Normal doesn't mean "good". It doesn't mean "bad" either. It's entirely context dependent. In the past it was considered "normal" to be racist. That doesn't mean being racist is a good thing.

In the context of whether being trans is statistically common (it's not) - it's not "normal". But that statement doesn't attach any positive or negative qualities to normality.

I'm sure you're "normal" in many ways. And "weird" in others. I know I am.
