Just like it's OK to not heal, it's also OK for people to talk about how they healed and share resources to help other people heal. And if people don't heal and their unhealed self hurts others it's OK to hold them accountable for their actions EVEN IF they didn't have the "privilege" you do. It's not "okay" to harm others. No matter how unprivileged your life was. Period.
My mother is mentally ill. She hasn't healed. She has had opportunities to heal, and hasn't taken them "because she doesn't want to".
And she abused me, and my brothers, and my father, because of that choice she made to not try and heal.
If it's "okay" for her to not heal, it's OK for me and everyone who was hurt by her, to hold her accountable, and not put ourselves in further harm's way.
OK?
OK.
