It’s a shame. While I’m queer and so are many of my best friends, and IN GENERAL queer people are less sexist than straight people — there IS a subset of the gay community that is sexist. It’s like some gay people feel the need to “prove” they like men, by expressing disdain or revulsion for females. For example, I know many gay men who gag at the mere mention of a vagina, and call female bodies disgusting. Leaving aside the fact not all men are male, just because you’re not attracted to certain body parts doesn’t mean they are DISGUSTING. Like you can say “I don’t find vaginas attractive” without going “ew vaginas are fishy and disgusting”. You can also be childfree without calling (straight) women “breeders”. I understand the sexism may be a reaction against homophobia like, maybe some gay men aren’t believed when they say they aren’t attracted to women, unless they express disgust for women? But that doesn’t make it OK. :(
