Interesting, I didn’t feel that the show presented Carole as worse than Joe. I felt that Joe was the villain, in his animal abuse and in his abuse of his husband Travis, as well as his abuse of his employees.

Carole on the other hand seems to genuinely care about animals. While she is a quasi-cult leader, her influence is less malignant than Doc Antle or Joe Exotic as she works for a good cause and her animals are treated well, and her volunteers enthusiastically work for her for free.

On the charge of did she kill her husband? Quite likely. Does that make her evil? Not sure. It seems like she may have killed him because he was an animal abuser and she no longer wanted to be part of that, she put the animals before her husband. An animal abuser being eaten by the tigers he abused? It feels a bit like karma. I’m not saying it’s right, but I don’t hate Carole half as much as I hate Joe.
