Interesting. I wonder if the whole chemistry thing is a man thing? Or an allosexual thing? Cause as a demisexual woman I have had the experience of initially not finding someone physically attractive (not thinking they are my “type”) and then once I get to know them and their personality, and develop emotional intimacy in the form of friendship with them, suddenly it’s like a switch and I find them incredibly physically attractive. It happened with me and my fiance. Now he did find me attractive from the get-go but initially when he told me he felt that way I said “I’m flattered but I see you as a friend”. He was fine with it and we stayed friends and he never crossed any boundaries with me. After a few more years a lightbulb went off and I thought “damn you really are attractive” — I asked him if he felt the same way about me and he did, and then well the rest is history. :P

I don’t know how typical that is for women or men though. It might be just a demisexual thing.
