I'm sorry Emily but I just don't agree. Saying that you are a bad person for not having a mental illness is not helpful. You shouldn't shame people for being happy.

To quote Waymond Wang from Everything Everywhere All At Once:

"When I choose to see the good side of things, I'm not being naive. It's strategic, and necessary. It's how I learned to survive through everything. I know you see yourself as a fighter, well I see myself as one too. This is how I fight".

There's a big difference between being against "toxic positivity" (forcing people to be happy when they're not) and saying "if you're not depressed there's something wrong with you". That's toxic negativity (shaming people for not being as depressed as you, indicating they're "less enlightened" if they're not depressed).
