I'm not a manager, but I am a senior salesperson at my business. I know I'm important to the success of the business, and I have a track record of high performance. As such it definitely is easier for me to be open when I need to take mental health leave, because I know that doing so will not be seen as me being lazy, and the company can't afford to fire me.

So yeah I do have some privilege and I use it to hopefully try and make taking mental health leave easier for everyone by posting on Slack (where people post why they're taking time off) to specifically say "I'm taking mental health leave" so people know it's ok to do so.
