I'm genuinely nice to everyone I can be.

However I understand that some people can feel indebted when I do favours for them, like when I shout my friend for dinner, because they are struggling financially, and I am not.

So what I've done is always tell my friends to "pay it forward", so that it's clear they don't owe me anything and if they want to pay anyone back, do a favour for someone else less fortunate.
