I'm confused how you can say that you're not more significant (as a coparent) than someone who went on a first date. People I have shared experiences with and shared responsibilities with ARE more significant to me than people I've just met. That's natural. This is not to say that they will always be more significant, but someone I've met for the first time is not equally significant to my closest friend who I've known for over 10 years, or my partner.
