IDK I was really into fictional characters as a teen. Partly because it was a safe way for me to explore what I wanted in a partner and also because fictional characters were way more interesting than boys at school.

I think it's fine to have some crushes on fictional characters at any age. It's not a new sexuality it's like having a crush on a celebrity.

It might be easier to get into that if you've had bad real world experiences.
