I wouldn't use the word "murder" to talk about the realisation that the ego is an illusion - because I think it gives the wrong idea to people who haven't yet experienced what "ego death" is actually like - they might picture a fearful, violent process. It's not like how the unawakened picture it, falling away into blackness. It doesn't feel like LOSING anything. It feels like gaining everything. It feels like realising you are the universe and everything that is, and that the ego is merely a character that you created and you are free to do whatever you want with it.
