I wouldn't call the breakdown of a relationship due to irreconcilable disparity between people's priorities "solving the problem through communication". Yes communication allows for everything to remain above board and ethical. But that doesn't mean the relationship can always work out, and that's what I meant. Sometimes having more than 2 people in a relationship will lead to these kind of differences in life priority, that can't be resolved in a way that allows the polyamorous relationship to continue. Not always of course, but the more people in the relationship the more LIKELY that is, all other factors being equal. Of course this can happen in monogamy too.
