I would disagree actually. I would say if you really understand what Deepak Chopra is talking about, it will build resilience and inner strength.
After all, what he's talking about are ideas that have been expressed by Buddhists and Hindus for thousands of years.
And Buddhism particularly, is known for building inner resilience. Who can forget the monk who self-immolated as a protest against religious freedom, and didn't move a muscle or scream as he burned alive? He was in a state of meditation that allowed him to withstand any suffering.
