I thought this as well - while I absolutely believe Chauvin is guilty, the way the public, the media and elected officials have basically made it clear that if jurors did not make the "right" decision their livelihoods not to mention their physical safety and lives are at risk - that gives the defence the perfect case to argue for a mistrial. So actually it's not helpful to the cause of justice to pressure jurors, let alone threaten violence against them. Chauvin may ironically benefit from all the protests and riots.
