I think when people mean "they like low maintenance" it's less about not needing to go to therapy and the doctor, but more "not needing constant manicures, lip fillers, expensive gifts all paid for by your partner etc". Because the so-called "high maintenance woman" trope isn't about a woman who needs therapy or needs care, but a spoiled woman who demands money for constant physical upkeep. Think your average Influencer.

I get the point of your article and it's valid, but I don't think that's what most people mean when they talk about "low maintenance".

If you've ever seen the show "90 Day Fiance" some examples of high maintenance include Anfisa and Jasmine - the kind of women who will throw tantrums because their man won't spend $5k at the drop of a hat for a cruise he can't afford, demanding a $40k wedding dress and if it won't be paid for then "you mustn't really love me". These kind of manipulative women exist and it's valid to not want to be in a relationship with someone like that.
