I think that a lot of people are worried about focusing too much on Hamas because Hamas's evil attacks is what Israel is using to justify indiscriminate bombing of Gaza and killing of far more civilians in Palestine. When the civilians being killed are not the people who kidnapped, tortured, raped and killed the Israeli civilians. So people are wary of using the same language and rhetoric that Israel is using to justify genocide.

Even though Hamas's attacks ARE evil, and deserve to be condemned in the strongest possible terms, Hamas's actions are being used to justify the mass slaughter of civilians and children by Israel. And so we don't want to imply that Israel's retaliation tactics are justified.
