I think people who post argumentative comments are probably trying to understand their own beliefs and make sense of their lives. I call this "creative friction", in that we know what we do not think, more often than what we do think. Or realising "I disagree with this" is easier to do than figure out what you truly believe without any pushback or negative to compare against.

So that's why I often write comments in disagreement (not just to you, but to all the writers I read on here), even more so than when I agree. And I don't always know WHY I disagree, until I write the comment. The discovery happens during the writeback. It's a learning process for myself. The articles I agree with most, don't get comments. Because I usually didn't learn from them in some way. What's the fun in reading something that doesn't change you in some way? Whether in resistance or flowing? :)

I hope that the times I've disagreed with you in the comments, have not contributed to this negative feeling you express in your article today. If they did, I'm sorry. I respect you as a writer, and as a person. If you want me to only comment when I agree to something, I will.
