I think people did ask Kim this when he was going on his rants on Twitter about her conspiring against him, while they were still together. The problem is when someone is THAT powerful and rich and denies having a problem, it's almost impossible to force them to seek help. You can suggest therapy to them, and I'm sure Kim did, but the way Kanye seems to be going, is in the vein of "psychiatry is a scam, it's a conspiracy to hide my light under a bushel". If anyone close to him tries to have him sectioned, who knows what would happen to them! They could be sued, or attacked by his bodyguards. They could be portrayed in the media as "trying to falsely imprison a Black man" and have their lives and careers ruined. Any doctor that Kanye employs that tells him something he doesn't want to hear, will be fired and replaced with a yes-man.
What exactly do you want the public/media to do? How can we help him if he doesn't have insight to the fact he is sick and needs help?
