I think it's great that you published a book. However a book is a product. You have to market it to the right audience. And blaming people who aren't the right target audience, for not buying your book is not a great marketing move. Especially when you try to tie it into feeling betrayed by loved ones, and also into people becoming alt right.
Nobody owes you book sales. And in fact, seeing this article doesn't sell me on your book.
Why should I part with my hard earned dollars just because you worked hard on a book? There are millions of books out there that people worked equally hard on. I applaud all authors, but that doesn't mean I owe them all my time, my attention, or my money.

Now if you give me a blurb on the book that piques my interest, that explains how I will get value from the book, that's different.
