I think it's a beautiful idealism but that Tolstoy and most anarchists who claim that "if you don't work you'll die" is an oppressive invention of the capitalist system, forget that this is a law of NATURE not society.

Food and shelter have to be obtained from somewhere. If we do not "work" to obtain these things, whether directly from the soil or the environment (as a farmer or hunter gatherer), or indirectly via capitalism, feudalism, communism or whatever, we will die. There is no way around this fact. Some form of effort (work) is required to live.

The fact that things like "welfare for all" is possible, relies still on the fact that some people work on behalf of those who cannot.
