I see reincarnation a different way. You can't be "closer" to God. Because you are not separate from God. There is no distance to transcend. You are how God experiences existence. All of life, all of existence is how God experiences. So reincarnation is how "God"/Supreme Be-ing/Atman/Annata continues to manifest to infinity of possible experiences.

I do not think reincarnation will ever end. But that's OK. Because it's an infinity of diversity, there is no boredom, there is nothing that you "have" to do. All that matters is that you're experiencing.

You do not need to travel multiple lifetimes to get closer to God. You are and always were, and always will be, inseparable from God. God is "I Am". Nirvana is samsara. Atman is Brahman.

"I am not to be found at the end of a long road

I am right here"

- Shiva, The Radiance Sutras
