I have no influence in this election either way, because I'm not an American despite currently living in the US.
However I had an interesting conversation with a Facebook friend who was comparing not voting for Kamala to a trolley problem where Palestinians are on the tracks on one side and Palestinians, queer people, and women are on the other.
I said "while I do think most protesters for Palestine will end up voting for the lesser evil at the end of the day, you can't blame them for trying to leverage the only influence they have at the only time the politicians might actually care". And my friend said "they have zero leverage". I said "ok if voters have absolutely no leverage then this isn't a democracy". He agreed but then reiterated how essential it was to vote for Kamala anyway.
So the thought process seems to be "voters are both so essential that a single person protesting is betraying their comrades, and also so powerless that they never can influence the policies of their candidates"?
