I have mixed feelings about this article. Not because it's not written well (you write beautifully) but because I don't really agree with the idea that adventurousness and exploration is inherently masculine, and nurturing and stability is inherently feminine.

When I'm exploring my adventurous side, I'm not "being masculine", I'm expressing myself (a woman) in an adventurous way. When my male partner expresses nurturing and caring emotions, he's not suddenly becoming feminine, he's expressing caring masculinity.

I mean ultimately it doesn't matter as we should integrate these sides of ourselves either way no matter what we call them, but I always think it's a bit gender essentialist to claim that assertiveness, drive to explore is a masculine trait, and wanting to stay home, be in touch with feelings, and be soft is a feminine trait. Can't they all be both masculine and feminine?
