I feel like this is a bit judgemental about people who have different enjoyment in things than you do currently. My brother loves to skydive. He also loves to read and meditate. I would love to travel the world, but it's not running away, it's running toward new experiences. Because curiosity and experiencing new ways of life is a beautiful way to appreciate the world.
In the Five Factor Model of personality, one of the personality traits, Openness to Experience, explains why some people love to have new experiences such as travel, meet new people, learn new skills, become a psychonaut etc. I am very high in that personality trait, as is my brother.
It's a fallacy that the only reason someone would travel or try extreme sport is because they're "unhealed". And that the only valuable form of travel is a meditation retreat. And that people can't like contemplation AND skydiving.
People are complex, who knew?
