I don't know what "white people drama" means but the painting has a guy raising his arms in shock, and another person covering their face... pretty emotional and dramatic gestures if you ask me. And if you look at the faces of the "multiracial crowd" there are some pretty major expressions of shock on them. Quite similar to the expressions of shock on the previous depiction you give.
How it's supposed to be different from "white people drama", is unclear.
Good article but this section is a bit weird because the painting you refer to has some people being dramatic and emotional in it, so how it differs from a particularly "white" type of "drama" is not well explained. Is it just that Jesus looks calmer and isn't raising his hand? But there are paintings by white artists that depict Jesus as serene, for example Edward Burne-Jones had a very meditative depiction of Jesus.
And if it's not explained then it just comes across as a snide aside put in purely to signal "I'm not like those *other* white people because I am self deprecating".
