I don’t know. For me, I have sexual arousal in two places — the genitals and deep inside the stomach. The things that arouse the genitals and the things that give me “warm pulses” are not usually the same thing. I associate the genital specific arousal with kink and masturbation, which isn’t emotionally connected to anything, and the deep warm aroused feelings with love and penetrative sex. Because the sensation of having sex with someone I love triggers the deeper kind in me, and while it doesn’t lead to a clitoral orgasm, the feeling of intimate sex is preferable to me, because the feelings are more emotional and more full-bodied, they don’t just peak in a small area of my body and dissipate quickly the way a clitoral orgasm does.

It’s probably possible to have an orgasm with the warm tingles, where the pulses come rapidly, but for me it’s more like a wave that I can keep surfing for as long as I want, so long as I’m thinking about loving, empathetic, intimate things.

It’s curious, I don’t know of anyone else who experiences arousal quite like I do, which goes to show how unique it is for all women.
