I am deeply turned off by the idea that women exist BECAUSE of oppression. Your argument seems to be, the category of “woman” is inherently tied to oppression, so if women stopped being oppressed they’d stop existing as women? And what, become men?

Fuck that.

I’m a woman. There is nothing wrong with that.

And while women have been oppressed historically because of their biology (menstruation making them “unclean”, being defined by their wombs) they are oppressed for other reasons now, layered on top. So people can now see someone who presents as a woman and without knowing their biology still put them in a box of oppression.

But that doesn’t make womanhood inherently oppressive.
