Honestly, she could have made an effort to try and reign her impulsive emotions in so she wouldn't hurt you. She CERTAINLY didn't have to blame you for being hurt and for wanting her to stop harming you with her words. The fact she instead attacked you for pointing out her harmful behaviour points to it being abuse not mere mental illness beyond her control.

My partner is severely mentally ill and he has NEVER said anything mean to me, let alone yelled at me. And he has psychosis, severe depression and mood swings.
