Honestly I like your articles but I think this one is not great.
If you've been abused as a kid, it does mess up your memories. Looking back on my childhood aged 29 many things are fuzzy. That will only increase as I age, so I would imagine a 36 year old and a 50+ year old would have different recollections of the same event. Memory is often changed during the recollection as well. So the specifics of the timeline could well be different.
People do hold contradictory feelings of their abuser - like love and hate. They also "put on a good face" to spare their abuser's reputation.
There are so many reasons why her story would have inconsistencies that I really don't feel comfortable assuming she's lying. And given all the bad people you could be exposing in your articles - I wonder why you'd choose to interrogate someone who says they were sexually abused?
