He isn’t though? In no way is the Joker character an incel, or a misogynist. Yes, he doesn’t have a romantic partner. Does that make him an incel though? No, because he doesn’t have the entitlement of expecting a female partner. Yes, he hallucinates that he has one. But that’s his mental illness and loneliness. And as was confirmed by the director unequivocally, when people asked what happened to the object of his delusions, his female neighbour, she was NOT harmed by the Joker once he found out she wasn’t really in love with him. Again, not an incel.

The issues suffered by the Joker include: poverty, classism, mental illness, lack of mental health care and child abuse. How are these not global issues? How are these not behind some of the protests around the world?
