"half the country is on fire" - actually about 0.06% of the country has burned since the start of 2022 according to the National Interagency Fire Center.
"half the world is starving" - actually about 9% of the world
"women are about to lose bodily autonomy" - not exactly, it's more that abortion becomes a state issue not a national issue, it's still going to be legal in many places
"civilisation is on the brink of nuclear annihilation" - this has been true for 70 years, and it hasn't happened yet
"income inequality is beyond correction" - doubtful, there are many ways to correct the situation, including raising minimum wage or instituting Universal Basic Income
"a neo-nazi revolution is growing" - source? There have always been Neo-Nazis and they have been trying to institute a revolution since the end of the Third Reich. I don't see evidence they are genuinely more likely to take power in the US, than a communist revolution that "smashes capitalism" is likely to happen. Both are very unlikely imo. FYI the far right are not synonymous with Nazis. The rise of the far right is a different issue but the far right is not uniquely powerful now compared with other times in history, for example during McCarthy era.
"the last vestige of American democracy is dying" - source? One could argue that America has never been particularly democratic when compared to other Western nations like my own country, Australia. Propaganda and redlining is bad now, but it was also bad back in 1950, and 1970, and 2000...
"books are burning" - books have always been burning
I am not saying bad things aren't happening but come on dude. A bit of perspective is in order. Overblown doomism is just as unhelpful as Pollyannaism.
